Exhibition Closing: Malick Sidebe, Jack Shainman Gallery, 513 W. 2oth Street, through August 5.

Renowned Malian photographer Malick Sidebe’s fourth solo exhibition at Jack Shaiman Gallery closes on Friday. The show includes vintage studio portraits with contemporary prints documenting the street and dance club culture of youth in Mali’s capital city, Bamako, in the 1960s and 70s.

Retrospective: Elliot Erwitt: Personal Best, Museum of the International Center of Photography, 1133 Ave. of the Americas, through August 28.

A major retrospective  at the ICP features over 100 of Elliot Erwitt’s iconic images of America spanning the second half of the 2oth century.  Erwitt, a recipient of this year’s ICP Infinity Award for Lifetime Achievement, chronicled everyone from celebrities to politicians to ordinary Americans with wit and insight.

Andrea Meislin Gallery presents the first U.S. solo exhibition of work by Ilit Azoulay, a photographer based in Tel Aviv.  Azoulay collects, cleans, paints, sorts, compartmentalizes, names, catalogs and scans cast-off objects from everyday life.
