Artist Leigh Davis presents a slide show of her Residence photographs tonight from 7 – 9pm in conjunction with the exhibition Figured at BRIC Rotunda Gallery. Between 2002 – 2004, Davis photographed the rooms of 25 women living in a residence hall at the YWCA of Brooklyn. Her intimate interior scenes shot in natural light, while devoid of human subjects, powerfully express the lives of these women through their collections, concerns and clutter. Selections of these images are included in a group show exploring different ways that artists represent the figure without using a physical form. Other participating artists include Julia Chiang, Petros Chrisostomou, Leor Grady, Regi Müller and Eric Rhein. Figured is on view through March 3rd.
