Head to the Grand Street stop on the L train this weekend for a lively event coinciding with Bushwick Open Studios. From Friday, June 1, through Sunday, June 3, nonprofit Art for Progress is hosting the Brooklyn Beat Music & Arts Festival at the Paper Box in East Williamsburg. Admission to the event ranges from $5-$8.

In addition to an indoor music area, guests can revel under the stars in the outdoor art garden and soak up compelling video and art installations, and participate in interactive fashion.

Live music acts include Apollo Heights, Lachi, School ov Thought, Push Method, Argotec and Redheadphone. DJs include Punches, Jeannie Hopper of Liquid Sound Lounge, Bruce Tantum from Time Out NY, and Kervyn Mark from Melting Pot. Caridad Sola will curate provocative performance art throughout the space.

Sunday will be for all ages and free for children under 12, with organic cupcakes sponsored by Francescacake, and a special kid-centric musical performance by Jon Samson of CoCreative Music at 2 p.m. The Grammy-nominated Ze Luis Quartet will perform in the afternoon.

The Paper Box is located at 17 Meadow St., Brooklyn, ground floor.
