Intimacy in Discourse Poetry Reading
Rail Curatorial Projects and Mana Contemporary present a reading by Mónica de la Torre and Charles Bernstein inside the exhibition space of Intimacy in Discourse: Reasonable Sized Paintings. Using poetry as narrative for viewing the exhibition, the two poets will roam the space along with the audience.

Mónica de la Torre
Born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico, Mónica de la Torre came to the United States in 1993 on a Fulbright Scholarship to study at Columbia University in New York City. Her first book of original poetry in English, Talk Shows, was published in 2007 by Switchback Books, followed by Public Domain (Roof Books) in 2008. She has served as the poetry editor of The Brooklyn Rail and lives in New York City, where she works as a senior editor of BOMB magazine.
Charles Bernstein’s Pitch of Poetry, new essays, will be out this Spring from University of Chicago Press. His most recent book of poems is Recalculating (Chicago, 2013). He is Donald T. Regan Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is co-director of PennSound. In 2015 Bernstein was awarded both the Münster Prize for International Poetry and Janus Pannonius Grand Prize for Poetry. More info at epc.buffalo.edu.
