Organized on the occasion of the exhibition Please Touch: Body Boundaries, curator Ysabel Pinyol and filmmaker Dana Ben-Ari present a day of programming offering a deeper dive into some of the ideas and themes behind the exhibition. The day will include a panel discussion, poetry readings, artist conversations, and an exhibition tour. The event is free and open to the public.

11–11:30AM
Welcome & Coffee

11:30AM–12:30PM
PANEL DISCUSSION
Dana Ben-Ari, Mathilde Cohen, Nona Faustine, Clarity Haynes, and Jasmine Wahi join moderator Graham Burnett in conversation to discuss the social, political, and personal questions that arise and are at the core of the exhibition, Please Touch: Body Boundaries.

With increased attention surrounding gender politics and body-boundary violations, it is important to examine both the ubiquity and longevity of artists using the body to illustrate broader social topics.

12:30–1PM
POETRY READINGS
The conversation is extended and continued through a series of poetry readings. Select writers will share their own work, giving yet another way to think about how the exhibition themes are relevant and present in all types of art.

1–2PM
LUNCH

2–3PM
ARTIST CONVERSATIONS AND EXHIBITION TOUR
Tour the two gallery spaces that comprise Please Touch: Body Boundaries, and meet several of the artists, who will be present and providing additional thoughts on and engaging in conversation about their works.
