Ernestine Ruben

Ernestine Ruben is internationally known through extensive exhibitions, books, and workshops. Her work is included in many major museums and private collections. Most of her life has been focused on art: growing up with it, studying the history of art, and teaching visual arts at all levels.

She is actively engaged in art education and is focused on the creative process in art and the development of careers in the arts. Her constant challenge is using the elements particular to photography and redirecting them to other art forms. She aims to render photography more three dimensional, more present, and more alive. She searches ways in which photography can enter into the domains of furniture, architecture, fashion, music, and performance art. She is currently studying the relationships between sound and the visual image. Her passion and curiosity for all the arts drives her continuously in new directions.
