Ilana Goor:
Artistic Furniture and Bronze Sculpture

January 12 – February 14, 2014

Israeli artist Ilana Goor works in a variety of media including wood, fabric, clay, bronze, glass, found objects, gold, silver, and plexi-glass to create limited edition sculpture and furniture. The artist’s visual language elegantly spans the area between art and design and reflects many biographic and historic sources.

Goor’s self-titled exhibition at Mana displays several decades of her organic bronze jugs, unique jewelry, furniture and light fixtures that range stylistically from elegant minimalist to massive industrial, with a few Surrealist fantasies. “All art must come from the heart and be made with passion,” said Goor.

Ilana Goor was born in Tiberias, Israel. Her work has been shown in many international galleries and museums including the California Museum of Science and Industry in Los Angeles, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (where she was given a retrospective exhibition in 2006), the Museum of 20th Century Art in Vienna, among many others. This exhibition is the first time many of the works have been publicly exhibited in the United States. The Ilana Goor exhibition will take place in Mana Contemporary’s new second floor gallery.
