Karole Armitage Brings Together
Lacroix, Gaultier, Koons, and More
"Nearly four decades ago, in 1978, a twentysomething dancer and choreographer named Karole Armitage tapped Christian Marclay, then a budding artist studying at Cooper Union, to create the set and costumes for her production 'Ne.' 'It was kind of like ‘Ne’ was destroying all that there was before, that jubilation, that you can remake the world in your own way,' Armitage remembers."
