Artist Roy Nachum was born in Jerusalem. He studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design and the Cooper Union. He is the first visual artist to incorporate braille into his oil paintings. To create each piece, he writes a poem or a story to accompany it, then translates it into braille and incorporates the tactile text into the background of the work. Nachum encourages viewers to touch his artworks, a gesture that acts as the finishing touch to each piece.
