American photographer Sante D’Orazio was born in Brooklyn, NY. He attended at Brooklyn College and studied with photographer Lou Bernstein, a member of The New York Photo League, and painter Philip Pearlstein. His provocative, supermodel-centric photographs catapulted him into the fashion world; his work appeared regularly in Italian Vogue, Interview, GQ, Allure, and many others. In the early 2000s, D’Orazio adapted his then-signature style to better fit with his roots in the fine arts. His work has since been exhibited at the Kunsthaus Munich, Kunsthauswien Vienna, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Stellan Holm Gallery, and Cameraworks Gallery Hilario Galguera Gallery, among others.
