Sherelle Miller

Sherelle Miller is an illustrator and fashion designer. Her most recent works are in oil on canvas and focus on the shared truth of contemporary lore: What facets of paranormal eyewitness testimony survive the incredulity of a public scathed by fake news, manipulated images, and deliberate disinformation to enter the collective unconscious as belief? How is the label “paranormal” used to discredit what is seen but not captured, and why are we primed as a matter of self-preservation to declare what is documented is not credible? The picture plane pools imagery—mined from sources such as past-life regression transcripts and “weird weather” captured on smartphones—as a record of events that lie not beyond fact or belief, just outside our understanding and the official public record. Sherelle is from Columbus, Ohio, where she studied art and design.
