Xiaoyu Che

Xiaoyu Che was born in China and completed her degree at Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. She combines traditional media such as printmaking and watercolor with contemporary collage techniques to explore themes around science, culture, and conflict. Often employing copying and recombination, she investigates ideas derived from philosophy and psychology in visual and tactile ways. Following her undergraduate studies, Che worked as an intaglio technician and learned silkscreen printing. In 2018, she earned a MFA degree from Syracuse University and exhibited at the institution’s Spark Contemporary Art Space and Folk Art Center.
