A distinguished group of wine collectors and prominent figures in art, finance, and fine dining gathered for a private dinner on Thursday, June 11 to celebrate the launch of Mana Wine. The elegant evening was hosted by renowned wine journalist Anthony Giglio, and esteemed guests included Doug Duda, host of A&E’s “The Well-Seasoned Traveler”; Dana Nigro, senior editor of Wine Spectator; Robin Kelley O’Connor, leading wine educator; Irene Justiniani, beverage director for Bar Americain; artist Jeremy Penn; Melissa McAvoy of Luxury Wine & Co.; John Foy, wine columnist for New Jersey Star Ledger; Dawn Land of Sherry-Lehmann; and Baroness Sheri de Borchgrave wine columnist at New York Cottages & Gardens magazine.

Guests enjoyed wines from Spain and Latin America such as a 2000 Viña Tondonia Reserva Blanco Rioja and a 2008 CVNE Viña Real Gran Reserva Rioja served with dishes such as poached codfish salad and rabbit loin wrapped with duck prosciutto. Exhibitions on view included THEOREM. You Simply Destroy the Image I Always Had of Myself featuring works by 30 international artists in the 50,000-square-foot Glass Gallery and Revolution at Giverny: A Return to Women in Nature featuring works by photorealist painter Yigal Ozeri.

“Fine art and fine wine are naturally at home with each other,” said Mana Contemporary founder and director, Eugene Lemay. “The addition of wine brings an enhanced cultural experience to our arts community.”
