Curatorial Talks: Tone Olaf Nielsen, Morten Goll, and Terry R. Myers

Join Terry R. Myers in conversation with Trampoline House co-founders, Tone Olaf Nielsen and Morten Goll. Trampoline House is an independent community center in Copenhagen that provides programming activities for vulnerable citizens with minority backgrounds, refugees, asylum seekers, and Danes. Olaf Nielsen and Goll will discuss the conception and development of the Trampoline House, and their belief in the power of artistic and curatorial work to contribute to social, economic, and environmental justice.

MORTEN GOLL
Morten Goll is an artist who began his career in painting, video, and drawing. Since 2000 his interest in the sociopolitical has drawn him toward larger social engagement, aimed at effecting social change. Morten holds MFAs in interdisciplinary arts from Otis College of Art and Design, and in painting from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen.

TERRY R. MYERS
Los Angeles-based writer and independent curator Terry R. Myers is an editor-at-large of the Brooklyn Rail. His most recent curatorial project was the survey exhibition, Candida Alvarez: Here, at the Chicago Cultural Center. Myers has held faculty positions at institutions including Art Center College of Design, Otis College of Art and Design, Pratt Institute, the Royal College of Art, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he was chair of painting and drawing.

TONE OLAF NIELSEN
Tone Olaf Nielsen is a Copenhagen-based independent curator. She holds an MA in critical and curatorial studies from UCLA and uses curating as a tool to contribute to social and political transformation, by presenting other ways of organizing the world. In 2005, she formed the curatorial collective, Kuratorisk Aktion (Curatorial Action), with Frederikke Hansen. She also co-founded CAMP, a nonprofit exhibition space for art discussing questions of displacement, migration, immigration, and asylum.
