Francesco Clemente, George Condo,
Chuck Connelly, Julio Galán,
and Daniel Lezama in the Pellizzi Family Collections

September 14, 2014 – March 13, 2015

Mana Contemporary and the Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation present Francesco Clemente, George Condo, Chuck Connelly, Julio Galán, and Daniel Lezama in the Pellizzi Family Collections, a multi-floor showcase of remarkable paintings

Italian anthropologist Francesco Pellizzi has amassed a trove of ethnographic art and artifacts over the past four decades. Highlights from his singular assemblage are featured in the Pellizzi Family Collections, where a selection of international artists covers three floors. The exhibition is organized by artist, with American painter Chuck Connelly and Italian painter Francesco Clemente on the sixth floor, George Condo’s carnivalesque paintings on the fifth floor, and work by Mexican artists Julio Galán, and Daniel Lezama in the first floor. Like Pellizzi’s collection, the exhibition’s themes span mysticism, mythology, history, and romanticism.
