Jay King

Jay King’s current work uses paintings, drawings, prints, and video to examine structure, appropriation, contemporary myth, visual puzzles, and narrative abstraction. King’s practice is in part informed by his recent decade away from art to write and produce television—including popular scripted adventure and reality programming. His solo and collaborative work has been shown at venues including the Museo de Arte Reina Sofia, James Cohan Gallery, D'Amelio Terras, and P.S1’s Greater New York exhibition. An alumni of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, King also received a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and an MFA from Bard College.
