Mana Performance Residencies

Mana Performance Residencies works with artists and organizations to support the reimagining of performance practice. Each artist or group has the option to further involve the Mana community, and the public at large, in elements of the creative process, including performances, open rehearsals, workshops, artist talks, and special viewings.

Mana Performance Residency x Secret Project Robot
September 1, 2018–August 31, 2019

September 2018 sees the launch of Mana Contemporary’s yearlong collaboration with Bushwick performance venue Secret Project Robot (SPR). Curated by SPR curator Kathleen Dycaico and hosted at Mana, the collaboration provides two-month residencies for six participating artists. Selected artists will also present special public programming and performances.

Mana Performance Residency x AUNTS
September 1, 2018–August 31, 2019

Organized by Laurie Berg and Liliana Dirks-Goodman, dance group AUNTS will activate unlikely parts of Mana Contemporary’s Jersey City campus—including galleries, hallways, lobbies, offices, and studios—as sites for public performance and research. In addition, the group will share the space with other artists and collectives, negotiating shared presentation and production.
