New York-based, self-taught sculptor and painter Véronique Anne Chabrolle, a.k.a. VeroDalla, was born in Burgundy, France. A former Michelin star restaurant owner, she was prompted to pursue art by a childhood brush with death and a transformative encounter with a poppy. VeroDalla’s work examines society’s influence on human emotional expression, prompting viewers to question their own lives as mirrored in the artist’s figures. Her sculptures aim to reconnect us with our inner selves, our histories and potential. Currently, VeroDalla is at work on a large-scale version of her LivenLuLu series. Her work is included in public and private collections in more than thirty countries.
